On November 19th Headquarters Hamburg customer Vatosline won the prestigious Webfuture Award issued by the media and IT initiative hamburg@work. Vatosline executive Hilke von Appen convinced the 14 jury members of her unique e-commerce concept. Vatosline is the first worldwide web-assisted database for the direct calculation of seafreight surcharges within the international container shipping industry.
We are proud to be part of this innovative project, because Headquarters Hamburg is responsible for design and programming of the complex database. Following a thorough pilot stage with selected test customers, the ‘Global Surcharge Calculator’ is about to go live in February 2010. The whole Headquarters Hamburg team congratulates Hilke von Appen and wishes her all the best of success for her startup.
